Chardonnay: Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 92 points "The 2006 Chardonnay Walter Hansel Vineyard is a fleshier, more opulent, tropical fruit-scented wine than any of the 2005s. It offers more up-front fruit and seems to be a quicker-term drinker than any of the Chardonnays from the preceding vintage. It is a fleshy, fruit-dominated beauty."

"The 2006 Chardonnay The North Slope Vineyard has slightly more minerality, medium to full body, notes of dried pit fruits and some white citrus along with some crushed rock and acacia flowers. The wine is rich, full-bodied, and again fruity and less delineated than the 2005 version of this wine. A terrific source of sensational Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays made very much in the style of the wines proprietor Stephen Hansel loves the most, white and red Burgundies, this 80-acre estate continues to build on a brilliant track record of high quality wines offered to consumers at sensationally fair prices." Hazy yellow color. Strikingly complex nose suggests ripe pear, orange, anise and dusty minerals. Juicy and fresh, with admirably restrained citrus and orchard fruit flavors. Reminded me of a suave Puligny-Montrachet. A delicious wine with excellent finishing lift and clarity." (May/June ''08)
