Bright ruby-red. Black fruit and mocha aromas are a bit more sharply focused than those of the merlot. Then delineated and spicy but less forthcoming in the mouth; still youthfully tight, with the oak showing today. Intriguing lavender florality lifts the finish. Give this one a couple years before pulling the cork.
