Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut Rose
|
60% Pinot Noir; 40% Chardonnay. From its comparatively light copper-salmon hue to its fairly forthright, cherry-like fruit, this creamy, nicely bubbled rendition steers more to a Blanc de Noirs style than to that of a Rose, and, while it conveys a fine sense of overall substance, it shows nary a trace of astringency. It picks up a slight edge of coarseness owing to its ample acidity, but it shows terrific palatal length and is bound to be smoothed by service with food.

Austere, with pleasing yeasty bread dough and dried cherry and cranberry aromas that carry over to the palate in this tightly wound, complex and concentrated wine. Drink now. 3,000 cases made.
