Prunotto Barolo DOCG 2001
Garnet red in color with ruby relections. Intense perfume of plums and ripe cherries with loral tones and spices. The wine is very intense on the palate with sweet tannins and a very long inish. Recommended with meat dishes, particularly wild game, and cheeses.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the prestigious Bussia vineyard in Monforte d’Alba. The grapes were harvested in mid-October. After careful selection, they were crushed and macerated for 12-14 days. 10% of the wine is aged in second time used barriques while the remainder is transferred to large oak barrels for 24 months prior to being blended, bottled and cellared for an additional 12 months. The Bussia has an intense perfume of plums and ripe cherries with loral tones and spices. The wine is very weighty on the palate with sweet tannins and a very long inish.
