The Syrah for this wine came from Paso Robles and their Estate vineyard. This is the 8th vintage of this wine. This wine was aged for 11 months in a mix of new and 1-3 year old French oak barriques. This inky-hued, full-bodied wine has lots of fruit and spice and is highly drinkable right now, however, it will reward the patient with another couple years of aging.

Dark red. Intensely perfumed nose offers vibrant red berry and smoked meat scents, along with fresh violet and cracked pepper. This reminds me of a top-notch Crozes-Hermitage, with sweet raspberry and cherry flavors, silky tannins and a long, spicy finish. Impressively fresh and very easy to drink.

Odd and ill-defined in aroma with elements of dried brush and earth surpassing those of evident fruit, this bottling is both too hot and too tough for its limited extract, and it fails to meet the needs of an 'everyday' drink.
