Bernardus Monterey County 2006
Much like its pricier partner, this demonstratively varietal wine is brimming with grass and herbs, but it shows a better sense of essential fruit at its heart and balances its greener themes with a touch of melon. It too runs afoul of bitterness at the end, but this time the distraction is minor, and the wine will succeed as a partner to meaty fish.

Decidedly herbal, with tart lime and tangerine flavors. The acidity is juicy and refreshing, but the flavors are very green. 7,913 cases made.

Cat pee, a drop of grapefruit juice and a clean, spicy finish. That’s pretty much it.
