Barone Ricasoli (Brolio) Chianti Classico Brolio 2003
The Brolio Chianti Classico 2003 moves on from where the fabulous 2002 left-off. Ricasoli’s own Sangiovese vineyards in Gaiole were the source of fruit for this wine, with the vineyards reaching nearly 500 meters above sea-level in some parts. The wine spends 12 months in French Oak barrels and barriques resulting in a wine that is bright ruby red in colour with rich flavours of mature fruit. Aromas of violets and spice lead on to a palate that is elegant and refined thanks to good acidity and well balanced tannins. The long lasting flavour sensation is voluptuous and velvety.
