Bolognani Trentino Traminer Aromatico 2004
Diego Bolognani is a brilliant, energetic winemaker from Trentino, not far south of the Austrian border. He makes vivid, delicious white wines from a range of varieties, some of them indigenous to his area. All of his wines are made by the 'non-Chardonnay' method (meaning they have bright acidity, are fermented and matured in stainless steel, do not go through malolactic fermentation, and are generally not manipulated whatsoever in the winery) and they show wonderfully vivid aromas and flavors. This is gewurtraminer, spicy and rich, but never sweet or cloying. A must with Asian food.
