Good saturated ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, mocha, spices and gunflint.Juicy, spicy and ripe, with good flavor intensity and more depth and sweetness than previous cabernets. A bit youthfully medicinal on the back, with big tannins but good clinging sweetness of fruit.

There is clearly no want for ripeness or extract here, but for all of its evident mass, the wine finds tannin joining with heat to occlude the sweet, cherry-like fruit that lies at its heart. It may never be counted among the ranks of refined Cabernets, yet its best days are ahead and it has the richness to garner full marks and our endorsement nonetheless.
