Lynmar Winery Russian River Valley 2004
|
Medium bright red.Raspberry, smoked meat, leather and flowers on the nose.Round and juicy, with slightly tart acids and a bitter pomegranate character giving the cherry fruit a refreshing quality. A bit pinched but offers good intensity and verve. Finishes with dusty tannins.

Clean as can be and nicely focused on incisive, ripe-cherry fruit from front to back, this flavorful wine comes with a fine sense of substance and flesh. Like its partner from the Quail Hill site, it shows a bit of enlivening acidity popping up at the end, but it is more spry than it is narrow or lean in character, and it provides plenty of near-term pleasure as well as the potential for a few years of expansion.
