Marchesato degli Aleramici Brunello di Montalcino 2001
Full red. Complex nose melds tart red berries, blood orange, smoked meat and minerals. Vinous and penetrating, with elevated acids and slightly tart berry flavors. Stern and tight but not quite hard, with plenty of underlying richness. Finishes with good length and firm but essentially sweet tannins. This needs a good five years.

Loads of blackberry, cherry and lightly toasted oak. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. Big, young wine. Best after 2010. 2,000 cases made.
