Pellegrini
Cloverdale Ranch
Alexander Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2007 vintage of our Cloverdale Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is classically structured with the unmistakable aromas of currents, black cherries, tobacco, and violets. That classic structure supports all this complexity and promises elegance over the next 10 years.
The 2007 growing season was marked by a warm end of summer which brought the fruit to a near-perfect level of ripeness by early September. All the wine was fermented in small open-top fermentors and punched down twice daily during the three-week maceration. After pressing, the wine was racked to a combination of French, Hungarian and American oak where it spent the next 19 months.

Lightly gamy, faintly brushy and just a bit sharp in this nose, this coarse and very dry wine suffers from a real shortfall in fruit and winds up dull and bitter with an oddly tangy edge to its finish.

Cosentino "CigarZin"
California Zinfandel
Zinfandel
Fragrant floral notes of black fruit, spice and black pepper set the stage for this lush old vine Zinfandel. Extremely rich and well structured with more exotic fruit characteristics than most Zinfandels, the wine’s profile is centered on a core of ripe blackberry and boysenberry with notes of cherry kirsch, clove and pepper. The extremely approachable finish displays dense layers of boysenberry jam and cocoa powder.

Movia
Pinot Nero
Pinot Noir
Bright blood red in the glass, and exceptionally clear for a wine with no fining or filtering, this wine has an intriguing nose of mulberries, cherries and other mixed berries over an underlying scent of minerality. In the mouth it is incredibly juicy -- bursting with acidity (without being unbalanced) and lush with flavors of blueberries, rosehips, and redcurrant that carry into a long finish that has hints of exotic wood. It has a depth and a resonance surprising for a wine with such light tannic structure, and a complexity that might be easy to overlook with its medium body and lovely fruit character.

10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Smelling of ripeness but not of fruit, this big too stolid offering relies on dried plum notes and quiet hints of dark chocolate for character in both nose and mouth. Its finish, however, is tight and dry, and, overall, the wine delivers more structure than center.
