Le Reve Blanc de Blancs
Chardonnay
Carneros. Once again, Le Reve emerges at the top of the ratings, and it is the wine''s impeccable adherence to the crisp, buoyant Blanc de Blancs style that puts it there. Its aromas offer a lovely mix of sweet citrus and creamy yeast components that combine both depth and appealing lightness, and they are followed on the palate by a perfectly appointed mousse and a refined set of rich, airy, pristinely fruity, stony, minerally flavors. Balanced and complex, deep and light at the same time, this one is about as good as it gets in Blanc de Blancs.

Grenache Syrah
The prodigious 2006 James Berry Vineyard (45% Syrah, 38% Grenache, and 17% Mourvedre) is one of this challenging vintage’s top efforts. Performing even better this year than it did in 2007, it reveals phenomenal concentration, a superb texture, and a stratospheric mouthfeel without great weight or over-the-top sensations. Black fruits, licorice, minerality, and floral notes are found in this intense, savory, broad, long effort. It should drink well for 10+ years.

Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Tight and complex, with a deep, potent core of ripe currant, herb, sage and dusty berry fruit, shaded by light toasty, cedary oak. Deftly balanced, intense and concentrated, this is young and closed in now, yet you can taste the depth and richness. Tannic. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Best from 2010 through 2020.
