1. What does VinoClassics stand for?
VinoClassics is a wine portal that focuses on wine wedding registries. Through VinoClassics, wine shops can sell wines in the form of a Wine Registry or sell direct wines to the customer.
2. How does a wine gift registry work?
Here is an example of our experience with a typical wedding registry. It is a good picture of what you can expect moving forward. Wedding couples register anywhere from 3 months to 1 year before their wedding for wines as a wedding gift. Most purchases start occurring about 2 months before a wedding, and continue for about 1 month following the wedding. For this reason, we keep the gift registries open and ship all wines in 1 shipment after closing the registry. This saves on time and costly shipping charges that go along with shipping individual bottles. It's that simple and all of our clients have been ecstatic to receive their wine collections.
3. Who can sign up with VinoClassics?
Wine shops and Wineries around the world can sign up with VinoClassics. Wine Inventory can be managed in several different currencies.
4. What are the costs involved?
Displaying your wines at VinoClassics.com is free. No monthly fees are involved. We will charge a 10% fee over the revenue generated through VinoClassics.com.
5. Can I link the VinoClassics Gift Registry to my Webpage?
You can create a Gift Registry button on your webpage that links directly to your gift registry shop in the VinoClassics page.
6. How can I upload my wines to the VinoClassics Site?
If you send us your wine inventory in excel, we upload the wines for you. Or, you can select your wines from our wine master database which carries more than 600.000 different wines. You can also upload the wines yourself in the administration site of your shop.
7. Who receives the money of the sold wines?
The VinoClassics site is integrated with the Paypal system. The money will be received in the Paypal account linked to your shop. The standard Paypal account in your shop is set at info@vinoclassics.com. This means that the money will come in the VinoClassics Paypal account and will be wired to you once a month. Alternatively you can change the Vinoclassics Paypal account into your own Paypal account and receive the money directly into your own Paypal account. You can withdraw the money direct without charges into your bank account.
8. Can I add shipping charges to the wines?
The VinoClassics webpage is integrated with the UPS shipping tool. In the back end you can set discounts for shipping charges and add handling costs to wines. You can also define the states that your business can ship to.
9. Who does the logistics of the wines?
The individual wineries and wine shops are responsible for the shipping and packing of their wines to the customer. From the admin part of the webpage you can manage your inventory and deliveries. You will be informed about all sales through your email that you linked to your VinoClassics account.
10. How does the wine album work?
For every wedding registry a full color wine album is generated by the system. The wine album lists the wines and its descriptions and includes photos and wishes from the guests to the couple. VinoClassics can print and provide you with a wine album to include in the shipping. The album can as well be printed by you from the back end of the webpage.
11. How many gift registries can I expect to sell?
Our affiliate shops sell on average 100 wine registries a year. The average wine registry contains 35 bottles.
12. Can I become a preferred shop on the VinoClassics Page?
Yes, in every country, we have currently space for 1 preferred shop. The preferred shop shows up when opening the page. On the site customers can search for other shops in their region. You can send us an email if you are interested to become a preferred VinoClassics shop.
13. Can a customer sign up for wines from more stores?
Each registry can only be carried by 1 wine shop. This as each individual shop is responsible for the shipping of its wines to the client.
14. Can clients buy individual wines?
Yes. Shops can sell individual wines. Clients can search for wines through the search function. The shop and the price of the wine will be shown after being searched by a client.
15. Is there a sign up and/ or monthly fee?
There is no sign up fee.
16. How does delivery work?
You are responsible to deliver your wines to your customers. Most customers request to get all wines delivered at once (which generates for you additional profit on shipping) after the wedding.
17. Who takes care of the registries. How are rate costs calculated?
The webpage is linked to the UPS system. Shipping prices are calculated by UPS based on weight, delivery service and distance. It goes automatically.
Shops can set wine prices, service charges, shipping discounts, and wrapping and service charges in the back end of the webpage in the shop profile page.
Shops can print out the wine album from the back end of the webpage and include this in the shipping.
In case you run out of wines, wines can be replaced by substitute wines in the back end of the page.
18. How many customers have you had outside the USA?
We have had in our first year 100 customers in the USA. This was our testing period. In November 2008 we started approaching affiliate stores. Most clients come through Google since we optimized the page for the keywords "wine registry", "wine wedding registry", "wine gift registry", wine bridal registry". We will implement in the next week a tool that will show our oversea webpage to oversea customers directly (no need to change country from eg USA to eg UK). Prices in other countries are displayed in the currency of the country.
19. What is the average spend per transaction?
The average spent per transaction depends on the registry. Transactions fluctuate between $ 35 and $ 200. Total registry value fluctuates between $ 2,500 and $ 11,000 per registry.
